Atlanta, GA – January 23, 2011—Thrive Technologies, Inc, announced today that General Air Service, based in Denver, Colorado, has reduced their inventory by 16% since replacing their previous system called E3 with Thrive’s web based inventory replenishment system. General Air users are also saving 90 minutes a day over the previous system to get the same amount of work done. Thrive Technologies is an award winning provider of web based demand forecasting and inventory replenishment systems for distribution intensive companies.
General Air Service, a large independent gas and welding distributor with 7 retail store locations, had been using a system called E3 from JDA Software. General Air management had been growing increasingly unhappy with the total cost of ownership of the E3 application including its iSeries AS/400 server and ongoing maintenance costs. Additionally, General Air users felt frustrated with the lack of replenishment domain expertise from JDA’s support personnel.
After deciding not to move forward with a pricey upgrade from JDA, General Air chose Thrive’s web based demand forecasting system. Harman Armstrong, General Air’s IT manager, recommended the decision based on Thrive’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) model, the ability to implement quickly, the robust functionality, and the high customer satisfaction levels evidenced from customer referrals.
“It was the smoothest software implementation we have ever been through,” said Armstrong. Dwight Lackey, the Purchasing Manager, states that in addition to the time savings and inventory improvement, the “ease of use” of the system makes doing his job easier and reduces stress. Additionally, “Thrive’s support is very knowledgeable and responsive,” concludes Lackey.
