Century Fitness Selects Thrive Technologies for Intelligent Inventory
Replenishment
Atlanta, GA, April 16th, 2007 —
Thrive Technologies, Inc, announced today that Century Fitness based in
Midwest City, Oklahoma, has implemented Thrive’s ClearDay Web software to
improve their inventory performance. Thrive Technologies is a leading
provider of on-demand inventory performance systems for distribution
intensive companies.
Scott Klososky, a successful technology entrepreneur and consultant,
advises Century on strategic technology projects. “I was very impressed with
the domain expertise that the Thrive personnel possessed and how their
system can dramatically improve a company’s inventory practices and
profitability,” said Klososky.
Thrive’s ClearDay Web software allows a distributor or retailer
to define their strategic service and profitability goals in the software,
and then translates those goals into daily tactical inventory buys. For each
item that a company stocks, ClearDay Web analyzes over 40 variables daily that
could impact demand or supply, such as a big sale, seasonality, promotions, vendor
discounts, or changes in lead times. The software alerts buyers before
issues occur (eg. stock-outs, excess stock) while the user still has time to
prevent the problem. Thrive customers typically reduce their inventory as a
percentage of revenues by at least 15% while reducing stock-outs.
Century is the world’s largest supplier of martial arts products.
Consistently growing at a double digit pace, Century is expanding into
markets such as boxing and fitness, and operates out of a facility that
contains a 250,000 square feet manufacturing plant, over 500,000 square feet
of state of the art distribution capacity, a 50 person Call Center, and its
corporate headquarters.
Since they manufacture many of their own products and also import
products from abroad, Century’s lead times can be long and present time
consuming challenges in optimizing inventory to meet their high customer
service standards. In addition, Century’s inventory planners must be able to
stock the right inventory levels to support their sales through multiple
sales channels including their direct sales efforts through their website
and catalog, as well as their wholesale distribution sales to martial arts
schools and to large retailers such as The Sports Authority, Dick's Sporting
Goods, Big 5 and Academy.
Century uses Thrive’s software to improve their inventory turnover,
to increase their in-stock percentages, and to free up time for their
inventory buyers to allow them to work on more proactive and strategic
activities.
