Web
Collaborate helps companies manage the inventory
replenishment for key customers
as in Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) programs, or Collaborative Planning,
Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR). ClearDay
Web Collaborate
imports the customer’s
EDI documents, creates forecasts, and generates optimized
replenishment orders.
Collaborative planning helps
both supplier and client improve inventory and service to the end
customer while also improving the planning for
capacity issues, transportation, and warehouse receiving. Before
starting collaboration, a company should establish customer service and
inventory turn objectives with the collaborative partners in the supply
chain.
Collaborative Features
 |
Your trading partner does not have
to be using ClearDay Web. ClearDay Web Collaborate connects with other supply chain software
regardless of vendor or platform. |
 |
Depending on your preferences for control,
level of responsibility, and licensing, there are two options for
usage of ClearDay Web Collaborate. You may choose to host and
maintain the collaboration technology yourself
with Thrive's assistance
in the
implementation process. Thrive can also
provide outsourced hosting and maintenance for the
software. |
 |
ClearDay Web Collaborate can also
leverage XML based communications, or can
work with EDI documents. XML
connections can provide some advantages in regards to inventory
planning collaboration:
|
-
Lower cost compared to the expensive Value Added
Networks (VAN’s) that are typically used with EDI
-
Planning process can become more interactive with more
frequent communications as opposed to the more rigid batch-oriented
EDI
 |
ClearDay Web Collaborate can provide features like secure
connections, guaranteed message delivery, validation, etc. which are
necessary for successful collaborative forecasting and replenishment.
|
 |
ClearDay Web Collaborate supports all standardized
schemas for collaborative planning including the
VICS XML Messaging
Model for Collaborative Planning, Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR).
Additionally, if there is no standardized data schema for the
customer’s industry, ClearDay Web Collaborate can
include self-service
mapping so the user can easily map their data formats and descriptions
to those of their trading partners.
Once the initial mapping is done, the collaborative data “translation”
process can be automated. |
